Overview
Apnalog helps people build a private, permission-based network of family and known contacts. We collect only the information needed to help you manage your network, invite people, and coordinate events.
We do not sell personal information, run advertising networks, or use imported contacts for background syncing.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you use Apnalog, we may collect:
- Account information such as your name, email address, or phone number.
- Contacts you add manually, paste, upload from a vCard file, or import from Google Contacts.
- Event, invite, RSVP, and coordination information you choose to create.
- Basic technical information needed to keep the service secure and working.
- Usage information such as pages viewed, browser type, device type, and approximate location provided by Google Analytics.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which parts of Apnalog are used and to improve the service. Google may set analytics cookies and process technical and usage information on our behalf.
Before analytics page views are sent, Apnalog removes query parameters, contact and event identifiers, and invitation or RSVP tokens from the page address. We do not send contact names, phone numbers, email addresses, notes, or imported contact data to Google Analytics.
Google Contacts Import
If you choose to connect Google Contacts, Apnalog requests read-only access to your Google contacts using the scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/contacts.readonly.
We use Google Contacts data only to:
- Read contact names, phone numbers, and email addresses.
- Show those contacts to you for review before adding them to your Apnalog network.
- Check for possible duplicates in your own network.
Apnalog does not store your Google access token, does not continuously sync your Google account, and does not use Google Contacts data for advertising or resale. The token is used once during the import flow and then discarded.
How We Use Information
We use information to provide and improve Apnalog, including to:
- Create and maintain your private contact network.
- Deduplicate people and preserve contributor context.
- Send or help you share invites and event coordination messages.
- Protect accounts, troubleshoot issues, and maintain service security.
Sharing and Permissions
Apnalog is built around permissioned relationships. People in your network stay private unless you choose to share a connection or invite another person into a relationship. We do not sell your contacts.
We may use service providers such as authentication, email, hosting, database, and storage providers to operate Apnalog. They may process information only as needed to provide those services.
Data Retention and Deletion
We keep account, network, and event information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can request correction or deletion of your information by contacting us.
Imported contacts that you skip during review are not committed to your network. Contacts you add can be edited or removed from your account subject to the app's shared-network integrity rules.
